Esperanto - Shopify Translation App

Esperanto – "the App” – provides management of translations – "the Service" – to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores.

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Information the App can access

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:

The access is needed to provide translation services when using the app.

We do not persist any of those data described above.
We do not access customer-related data.

Information the App collects

When you install the App, we are technically required to persist certain types of information from your Shopify account in order to provide the Service:

When you remove the app, we erase your shop-related data. Shopify will notify us by sending a request 48 hours after removal.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to: Communicate with you; Optimize or improve the App;

You won't receive Spam from us.

Sharing Your Personal Information

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Infrastructure

Firebase

We use Firebase as third party subprocessor to provide the technical infrastructure and the Service of the App. Firebase is a platform developed by Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California, U.S.) for creating modern web applications. It is used for hosting, data storage and communication via HTTPS. The App acts as a broker between your store and Shopify services. In general, Firebase monitors info- & error-events occurring in the App and/or backend services, and collects data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, and date/time stamps. DeepL

We use DeepL API as third party subprocessor to provide automated translations for a subset of languages. DeepL is a platform developed by DeepL SE (Maarweg 165, 50825 Köln, Germany) for creating machine translations. Texts or documents you submit will not be permanently stored and will only be kept temporarily to the extent necessary for the production and transmission of the translation. After complete performance of the contractually agreed services all submitted texts or documents and their translations will be deleted. Your texts will not be used to improve the quality of the DeepL services.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
